The meaning Tehillah.

Tehillah is Hebrew word meaning to sing aloud, to sing new songs and to sing forth praise. According to Nala, Tehillah is a special kind of singing; it is not an ordinary singing but a supernatural one.

Purpose/Objectives.

To improve the standard of music in our contry by offering music skills,in terms of singing,writing new songs,how to behave as a musician or how to handle the spot light,teachings on music as a carrer and business,discovering different artistic potential and naturing them to be all rounded artists as we also do stage plays and dance.

     To help people living with HIV in terms of giving life skills,moral and emotional support .

     Reaching out to Orphans and Old Age Homes as we have done in one of our shows where we gave a cheque of R6000
     to Muthande Society For the Aged and pledge to pay their rent for six months, in all our tours we would like to help an
     Orphanage or an Old Aged Home around that City or Town.

     Arts development in singing,playing instruments,speech and drama and give teaching on how to wright new songs.

Our Uniqueness.

     We write our own music and lyrics.

     Our music encourages and heals people emotionally and physically as we have testimonies of people who came to our shows physically sick
     but left complitely healed.

     Our shows are fused with stage plays which display different issues of day to day life and stand up commedy.

     Our music have different genres which accomodate everyone,from Contemporal Gospel / RnB, Jazz and Maskanda.

     We have come to understand that our market goes beyond KZN so we have started to sing in other languages as well.

King Somnala Tehillah Song is a brainchild of King Somnala, the Founder, and King of Nala Mandate International. It was conceived from a deep passion of Dr Nala to use music as a vehicle to carry the deepest expression of the human heart to God and to equip people with the ability to make music an instrument of praising and worshipping God.It was born in the city of Durban as a worship team of Rebirth Family Church International in 1998. Since then Dr HQ Nala and his wife Ntoh Nala has composed a number of songs and has hosted a number of shows under his directorship.

To date the group has released many albums, the first one titled "Africa Shayíngoma" in 2003,second one titled "uDumo Glory" in 2007 and the third album "Its Time For Singing" was done in 2009.All these albums were recorded live in the Durban Playhouse.Due to the success of the shows and public demand King Somnala Tehillah Song Project is now an annual event.

Members

King Somnala Tehillah Song has grown to a number of 40 voices,17 piece band and 6 dancers.These members are comming from different churches around KZN and outside in all the provinces who have left due to school commitments but are still part of the group.
